Run & Reflect: Memories of my Hometown

I spent this holiday in my hometown of Peckville, PA, just outside Scranton. I decided to go for a brisk winter jog one morning through all the streets where I grew up. It was almost as though I was visiting an old movie set where the “innocent days of Karen and her friends”  was filmed almost 30 years ago. I love to zone out when I run, so this particular outing was twofold; I was able to reflect on some old memories, with the added benefits of a fun little workout. (This is an appropriate time for a Bonjovi lyric, but I won’t push it.) So next time you visit your hometown, get out and recreate some memories in your old hood. Especially if you need a short break from the fam. ;)

Great little running trail down by the river.

Oh look, a bench! I smell some tricep dips

This then "steep hill" is where I would always wipe out on my old hand-me-down tenspeed.

Last but not least, my house until I was 12. Used to be so much bluer, almost like I'm looking at it now in black & white. A lot of Mtv, barbies, and dangerous gymnastics happened inside that house.Love me some memories ~ karen
